enVisionPro - in the military world
Client Profile and Project Brief
A large Defence manufacturer in the South of England uses the enVisionPro system to produce
ID cards for all Staff, visitors and contractors coming to the main manufacturing site.
As the site is a UK Ministry of Defence "List-X" site, security is of paramount importance.
The enVisionPro system, operated by members of the Security department, produces cards as required.
In addition, using the large number of data fields available for each cardholder (100+ fields),
full details of other security information, including clearance details, previous employment and
other confidential information are entered into the enVisionPro database.
The Solution
As the enVisionPro system runs on a centralised SQL Server, the system is directly linked
to the Access Control system for the site, the enGuardPro system, also from TSSI. When a new card
is printed, the cardholder's details are automatically inserted into the Access Control database
with a default set of "entry zones" (i.e. which doors are they allowed through). This can then be
modified as required on the enGuardPro Access Control system. On a regular basis, the
enVisionPro system communicates automatically with the central HR system to get details of new
employees, leavers, changes to existing staff etc.
The Business Benefits
This installation is a very large scale deployment of TSSI supplied systems, with details
of over 20,000 cardholders held in the enVisionPro system, and over 400 doors being controlled by
the enGuardPro system. Plans for the future of these systems, which have been in use at
this Customer for more than 10 years, include the use of contactless smartcards.
