enVisionPro - in the commercial world
Client Profile and Project Brief
A large commercial organisation in the North East of England occupies a very large commercial
site which, having once been owned by a single organisation, is now occupied by several dozen
different tenants. The safety and security on this site is paramount as the site deals with
extremely hazardous materials. As a result, this aspect of the site is controlled by the
owners, who manage and police the production of ID cards for all staff and for very large numbers
of visitors and contractors every day. The client's requirement was to find an ID card
management solution which could cope with the complexity of the issuing process, the number of
organisations involved and the safety concerns regarding reissued or revoked cards.
The Solution
Having evaluated many ID production systems, it was obvious that a complex ID card
management solution was required. Apart from printing and
tracking many thousands of ID cards, enVisionPro system was configured to produce scores of
specialist ID cards carried by members of the "emergency response" team, who swing into action
if an incident occurs. In addition to printing staff ID cards, the enVisionPro client situated at
the "Visitor Centre" processes hundreds of ID cards every day, as well as performing visitor
induction for all new visitors to the site. Having now been used for many years, the enVisionPro
database contains well over 40,000 cardholder details, producing dozens of different badge designs
from a single centralised SQL database which is now linked to other third party applications.
The Business Benefits
The centralised card issuing and complex card printing and reissuing history kept within
enVisionPro has enabled the client to satisfy the demanding health and safety requirements
surrounding the site. In addition, the system is used to record where and when visitor safety
induction was performed thus properly recording such details and reducing the probability of any
litigation should a future problem arise. Future plans for this site include the introduction of
the enGuardPro Access Control system, with the possibility of integrating with an ANPR system.
