ID Card Management Bid Specifications

This resource is designed to assist in preparing a Bid Specification for a full-functional PC-based ID Card Management and Production system, which can be integrated into other related systems, e.g. Human Resources. Network/Database environment

  • SQL Server or MSDE database
  • permit unlimited Multi users
  • permit links to external systems
  • allow images to be embedded in database
  • allow automated database and image backup

Configuration

  • capacity of 100 data fields per cardholder
  • all fields must be configurable/validated as "pick from list", text, dates (past or future).
  • allow 12 “free form notes” areas per cardholder
  • Image capture must offer a choice of
    • live video feed, pan/tilt zoom under software control
    • import existing image file from digital camera
    • scan in an image

Security

  • User login must be password protected
  • each login must permit chiolce of 3 levels of access
  • Access level must protects groups of data fields
  • Access level must offer multiple “view only” capability

Card technologies

  • ability to produce Barcodes, including
    • Code39
    • Code 128
    • Interleaved 2 of 5
    • Telepen
    • 2D – PDF417
  • All of the above must be obscurable
  • Capacity for Magnetic stripe encoding (all 3 stripes)
  • Capacity to use Contactless smartcards

Batch filtering

  • Ability for User to setup of one or more “filters” to permit:
    • Batch Printing
    • Batch deletion
    • Potrait Gellery printing

Search facility

  • able to search on any data field
  • user must be able to set up a default search field
  • system must offer the user a list of all search “hits”

Badge Designer

  • ability to produce an unlimited nuber of badge designs
  • designs able to be based on a "Template"
  • ability to design both sides of card (for use with a “flip” printer)
  • able to include both fixed and variable text fields
  • able to include Crda Holder Image field
  • simple insertion of graphics objects – logo etc
  • all designs able to print a "Variant" based on cardholder data
  • sample "Test Print" - printed card security marked 
  • ability to shrink or word-wrap oversized text fields
  • ability to execute full SQL server select statement at print time
  • able to design ID Card and Portrait Gallery output

Other functionality

  • System must pffer "Twain Acquire" ability for image or signature capture
  • Able to select a variarty of Card numbering options
    • manual
    • multiple automatic schemes
    • include prefix and suffix
  • System must aupply an Audit trail for every card printed
  • Must permit a "Mark as deleted" function
  • Ability to include Vehicle details & car park permit printing
  • Data enry task must incorporate Mandatory field control
